Getting a Quote

How does MOVA work?+

Download the MOVA app, point your camera at each room, and the AI automatically identifies your furniture and items. You confirm the list, and MOVA generates a fixed-price quote instantly — no forms, no phone calls, no waiting. When you're ready, post the job. A verified mover accepts, and the move is confirmed with a START and FINISH PIN to protect both sides.

How does the AI room scan work?+

Open the MOVA app and scan each room with your phone camera. The AI detects your furniture — beds, sofas, dining tables, fragile items, appliances — and builds your inventory automatically. You review and edit the list before generating your quote. The whole process takes about 90 seconds per room.

Can I also enter my inventory manually?+

Yes. If you prefer, you can enter your rooms and items manually using our room-by-room inventory builder. You can also get a web-based quote at mova-moving.com if you're on a desktop. The AI scan tends to be faster and more accurate, but both methods produce the same fixed-price result.

Is the quote I get a fixed price or an estimate?+

It's a fixed price, not a quote range that movers can change later. Your price is calculated based on the confirmed item list, addresses, floor access, and move date. Movers see your full inventory before they accept — so there are no surprises on move day.

What areas does MOVA serve?+

MOVA currently serves major Australian cities and surrounding regions, with coverage expanding over time. Enter your pickup and drop-off addresses in the app or quote tool — you'll see immediately whether your route is supported.

Booking & Payment

How does payment and escrow work?+

When you post your job, your payment is locked in escrow through MOVA's secure payment system. The mover cannot access those funds until the move is complete. When the move is done and you're satisfied, you enter your FINISH PIN — this releases payment to the mover automatically. You are always in control.

What is the START PIN?+

Your START PIN is a 4-digit code you share with your mover when they arrive. It officially starts the job and begins the job clock. Neither side can claim the move started without it, which protects both you and the mover.

What is the FINISH PIN?+

Your FINISH PIN is how you confirm the move is complete and you're happy. Enter it in the app after everything has been moved in and placed. This triggers payment release to the mover via Stripe Connect. If there's an issue, you hold the FINISH PIN and open a dispute instead.

What if I want to dispute something?+

If you're not satisfied, don't enter the FINISH PIN. Open a dispute through MOVA and our support team will review the job details — item list, messages, photos, and timeline — and help reach a fair resolution. Your funds stay in escrow until the dispute is resolved.

Can I book movers just for loading and unloading?+

Yes. You can book labour-only help for loading or unloading a truck, container, or storage unit. Select the labour-only option when building your inventory in the app.

On the Day

Can I track my mover in real time?+

Yes. Once your mover is on the way, you'll see their live location on a map inside the MOVA app. On iOS, a Live Activity widget also appears on your lock screen and Dynamic Island, so you can follow the progress without even opening the app.

Do movers bring their own truck and equipment?+

For full-service moves, movers bring a truck, blankets, dollies and straps. For labour-only moves, they provide the people and expertise while you supply the vehicle or container. MOVA's matching ensures the mover's truck capacity and crew size are compatible with your inventory before they accept.

Can movers handle specialty items like pianos or safes?+

Yes. Many movers on MOVA specialise in pianos, safes, pool tables, and oversized items. The AI scan flags these when detected, and our matching system only shows your job to movers who are equipped to handle them.

What if my mover runs over time?+

The fixed quote covers the full move as described in your inventory. If additional time is needed due to factors outside what was agreed, this will be communicated through the MOVA app — not assumed or charged without your knowledge.

Movers & Trust

Are movers on MOVA insured and vetted?+

Yes. Movers must provide business details, proof of insurance, and identification before they can accept jobs on MOVA. We display verified badges, job history, and reviews on every mover's profile so you can choose with confidence.

Can I change my inventory or move date after booking?+

Yes, in most cases. Message your mover through MOVA to discuss any changes. Significant changes to inventory or date may affect the final price or mover availability, and both sides need to agree before changes take effect.

How do I become a mover on MOVA?+

If you run a removalist or moving business, apply at mova-moving.com/for-movers. We verify your business credentials, insurance, and capabilities before your account is approved. Once active, you'll receive job notifications directly in the MOVA app.
