This is the one box that does not go on the truck. Pack it as though nothing else will be opened until tomorrow: phone chargers, toilet paper, a kettle and mugs, snacks, basic tools, a change of clothes, toiletries and bed sheets.
Three things people forget
- The outside. Garage, shed, balcony and garden pots are the most common surprise on the day.
- The lift booking. Many apartment buildings will not let a move start without one.
- Where the truck will park. Every extra metre between the truck and your door adds time.
